While we all know that uneven spread patterns with fertiliser can produce uneven and substandard yields, the same can also be said about water management, water logged fields produce uneven yielding crop or bulk grass production. The Hansa DS24 is the latest offering from Hansa, a rotary drainage machine designed to create smooth contoured drains of all shapes and sizes to aid in water management for increased yields in all types of agriculture.
The DS24 has infinite adjustability when it comes to drain shape and depth, set by the front link, the drain can be as shallow and flat as you like to slow water flow and minimise erosion, or as deep and narrow as required. Side to side roll adjustment allows the user to control how high and far the dirt is thrown, and for those critical areas when we don’t want to fill in an existing drain or waterway the adjustable side flap allows the user to control the throw quite accurately. The Shape and smoothness of the drain created by the DS24 allows for spreaders and sprayers to pass through at high speed, this gives you the best chance of a drainage map that moves the water where you want it with while moving the least dirt possible and not having to worry about your spray or spreading tracks.
Depending on options of the steering axle and side control flap the DS24 needs 3-5 remotes, and a minimum of 180 PTO hp. If remotes aren’t available an SCV option is available to be fitted to the DS24.
Â
The DS24 can be operated manually, however for best results GPS control is recommended, all DS24’s come standard GPS ready, only one DOF control is required, the large height control cylinders at the rear of the machine automatically follow your contour map and give smooth control for a smooth and free flowing drain.
We all know Hansa for the simplicity and reliability of their spreaders, and the DS24 stays true to the hansa vision, with only wearing blades that are easy and economical to replace the DS24 is a cut above the rest when it comes to maintenance and running costs.
If you have water management issues, but don’t have months for an operator or contractor to dig drains every year and spread the wind rows, give Hansa a call and discuss how the DS24 can dig kilometres of drains a day, not metres.
